As a spiritual director, I serve as a guide, a companion with you on your spiritual journey. Much of my role involves listening to you and discerning the movement of the Spirit, while reflecting on what I hear or sense in your life. I may ask questions to deepen our conversation, but as a spiritual director, I don’t tell you want to believe or do, but rather, I serve more as a guide or a signpost along the way as you strive to follow the Way even more closely.
Our conversations are confidential, through at times I may speak with my spiritual director or peer group about certain conversations with my directees without revealing names or identifiable characteristics. This process enhances my own spiritual growth as a director.
I will reveal some details about the content of our conversations, however, if (1) I am required to do so by law or court order; (2) I suspect child abuse, elder abuse, or the abuse of a dependent adult. This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Indiana. If any controversy arises under this agreement, we agree that we will attempt to settle any such controversy or dispute through mediation rather than litigation.
Traditional spiritual direction occurs monthly for an hour each time. The first session is free, but I would appreciate a fee for remaining sessions from $25 to $50.
